Who is Merry Nell Colborn? Hellerwork Practitioner

I am a Board Certified Structural Integrator since 2007, specializing in repetitive strain injuries, postural and structural imbalances due to physical and emotional stress, and sports related injuries.

Merry Nell Colborn is a certified Hellerwork practitioner with over 30 years massage and bodywork experience. She was certified in 1987 by Joseph Heller, founder of Hellerwork, based on Dr. Ida Rolf’s structural integration. Since then, the work has provided her with much more than a career. Practicing Hellerwork offers a great opportunity for personal growth and learning for both the practitioner, as well as the client.

Merry Nell’s intensive training consisted of over 2000 hours over two years to complete her Hellerwork certification. The program was comprised of human anatomy with a focus on fascial anatomy, psychology, kinesiology, bodywork and movement techniques. Continuing education is paramount to Merry Nell to keep up with the latest developments in bodywork. She continues to take courses in fascia anatomy, RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) treatment, Educational Kinesiology, and visceral manipulation. Merry Nell educates as well and has recently taught courses in specialized massage techniques, treatment of tennis elbow and plantar fasciatis. Merry Nell has provided demonstrations on Hellerwork, one of the premier bodywork techniques in the world, for the Los Angeles RSI support group, local chiropractors and professional sports organizations such as the Los Angeles Dodgers spring training camp.

Prior to her Hellerwork career, Merry Nell worked at Hughes Research Labs as a Development Engineer. Analytics, research, and deep understanding continue to inspire and motivate.

Merry Nell is a third generation native Californian, born in Santa Paula. She has lived in other parts of the country, but feels most at home in California. The beauty of nature and all of its wonder are inspirations, as well as the multitude of resources offered up on a daily basis from life’s experiences.

Healing, integration and a focused personal connection are paramount to her work in helping resolve her clients’ physical ailments.
